Prison Ministry
New Life Baptist Church has a very active Jail Ministry. Some of our preachers
participate by visiting our local jail weekly, under the direction of Chaplain
Steel, with Gospel messages, KJV Bibles and study materials. Many souls have been
saved.
Starting in 2005, Home Bible Studies were offered
to those incarcerated in our local county jail, along with their family members.
Subsequently, these studies have spread to dozens of prisons across the southeastern U.S.
Home Bible Studies directors Gary and Glenda Frazier
enroll inmates and others for The Mail Box Club Bible lessons. Some inmates choose to
continue the lessons upon being released. The number of enrolled is in the thousands with
approximately 600-700 active. As with other activities of the church, volunteers play a
very important part in seeing that the returned lessons are graded and the participants
receives the next lesson.
